// Tool Sharpening
Sharp shears cut. Dull ones crush. Drop off your pruning shears, loppers, hedge shears, axes, shovels, and hoes. We sharpen them properly and you pick them up ready to work. Flat rates posted up front.
Flat rates per tool, plus HST. Heavy damage like chipped blades, missing teeth, or bent edges may need extra work. If it does, we call before doing anything that changes the price.
Bypass pruners, secateurs, and grass shears. The volume tool in most sheds. Sharp shears cut clean, the plant heals fast, your hand doesn't cramp.
Bigger blade, longer bevel, two cuts to clean it up properly. Brought back to a working edge so you stop using your shoulder to force the cut.
Manual two-hand hedge shears. Two long blades, both done properly. Powered hedge trimmers are different. See that line below.
Single-bevel head ground and honed back to a working edge. Double-bevel or splitting heads, add $5.
A sharp spade cuts roots and sod. A dull one bounces. Edge ground straight and clean.
Stirrup, draw, collinear, the lot. A sharp hoe glides through soil and slices weeds at the root instead of dragging them.
Gas or electric. Bar comes off, every tooth gets attention, then reassembled and tested. We look at the unit first and confirm the final price before any work starts.
Sharpened and balanced. Already on our pricing page. Listed here because it gets bundled in with hand-tool drop-offs all the time.
Have something not listed? Pole pruners, scythes, machetes, splitting mauls. Give us a call and we'll tell you up front if it's something we can sharpen.
Already booking a mower service, chainsaw, or other equipment job? Bring your hand tools with it and take $5 off each tool sharpened. No coupon. Just mention it at drop-off.
Drop off three or more tools at once and take 10% off the whole order. Round up the neighbour's shears, your dad's loppers, the hedge shears the in-laws keep forgetting about. One trip, one bill, smaller bill.

// What We Don't Sharpen
Those are for a knife-sharpening specialist.
// We Come to You
Pickup and delivery is built into how we work. If your mower, chainsaw, or generator is already booked for pickup, send your hand tools along with it. Same trip, $5 off each tool. We cover 30 km around Fergus.
// Why It Matters
A sharp pruner slices clean. The plant heals over in days. A dull one crushes the stem and leaves an open wound that invites disease.
Dull tools make you force the work. Forced work is slow, tiring, and the main reason people give up halfway through a job.
Forced tools slip. A sharp blade doing the work itself is safer than a dull blade you're leaning your weight into.
A properly sharpened tool lasts years longer than one that gets ground down on a bench grinder once a decade. We don't take more steel than we need.
// Where We Work
